Second Hand Cars

Hi we are moving to Switzerland in January and I have been looking at some second hand Land Rovers and Subarus. Cannot understand what "mehrwersteuer" means. I know its VAT but what are the different tyes (regelbesteuert, margenbesteuert, mehrwerbesteuert) and how do they influence what I end up paying for the car?

I'd love to get an old Range Rover but concerned I'll not get any extended warranties. Are these available? Thing is, I'd get a Subaru with 1/3 of the miles at the same price BUT I still find them expensive compared to the States (My Tribeca was $35,000 brand new full house - it's $65,000 in GVA!)

Am I being a bit of a snob thinking I'll get a Range Rover or Discovery in Switzerland? Would love to be able to use them a lot over the winter going skiing etc. Guess fuels a lot more there than here too??
