Does anyone have any idea how many English nationals are resident either temporarily or permanently in the Geneva area. I am a lawyer thinking of opening an office in Geneva - any excuse to move my office from London - but specialise in English family and media law.

There must be quite a few in Geneva Canton/City, but don't forget there are also quite a number of us who live along the lakeside in France. We personally live in Evian-les-Bains and are not alone. There are also Brits living in Bernex [F], Thonon-les-Bains, Douvaine etc. who might be interested in your services. By all means get out of London - we never regretted it!!!

Thousands of Brits living here in both Switzerland and France and all nearby. None of us ever regretted the move from the UK and your legal services would be welcome if you are a Brit, but you would have to know Swiss and French laws unless you intend helping us with legal problems happening in the UK. Michael Brandon was a contact here in Switzerland for the British living in this area but I believe he is getting on. He was a Barrister and had sound knowledge of laws in Switzerland and would be a good contact for you.
