In Too Deep?Summer means swimming and swimming means the sea, a river, a lake... or ideally, your very own swimming pool! But while swimming pools are bags of fun, they also impose the responsibility for maintenance and safety. Better safe...Safety standards, while not uniform across Europe, are being brought in to effect in many countries - particularly with concerns for the safety of children. The European Association for Injury Prevention and Safety Promotion (EuroSafe) makes recommendations for legislation that may take the form of security fences with self latching gates, immersion alarms, pool covers or shelters for in-ground swimming pools. It's recommended also to have a mobile phone and the list of emergency numbers very near the swimming pool in the event of an accident. If you want to make sure you - or your children - are ready for the waters, see The AngloFILE category for Public Swimming Pools. If you don't have a swimming pool but want one, or you're up to your neck in green water, find out about local installation and maintenance specialists in the Swimming Pool & Spa Services category of The AngloFILE. Be prepared! Make sure you know where to call. See the relevant INFOrmation Pages: Emergency Telephone Numbers. News Flash!
